More proof on multiple Nexus device release later this year
Yesterday, a small leak revealed that Samsung is working on a Galaxy Nexus successor, codenamed GTi9260, which wasn’t a huge upgrade over the Galaxy Nexus, but bumped up the processor to 1.5Ghz and added SD card support. I don’t think Samsung will ever simply add tiny hardware improvements to the next Galaxy Nexus, which is the first reason that makes us call bull… on the report.
Today, another news was leaked from Japanese carrier NTT DoCoMo, which says it will be carrying multiple Nexus-branded devices this fall, which sounds very familiar with the news we heard few months back, that Google was planning to release 5 Nexus devices this year, to celebrate Android’s 5th birthday. It also means Samsung will lose the Nexus exclusivity, after developing the Nexus S and Galaxy Nexus.
The leaked document also shows the supposed product names – Galaxy Nexus 2, Xperia Nexus, and LG Optimus Nexus. These are just 3 in count. There are two more phones, about which we don’t have further information. Rest assured, the 5 Nexus devices will surely release this fall, as the handsets are indeed in the making.
