If only I could show you how excited I am while writing this article! because today, I witnessed something as never before. Google has changed the equations by announcing some fantabulous things at the first day keynote of the Google I/O 2012. Before I say anything, just check out the stunning pictures of this 7-inch beautiful piece of brilliance!

Quad-core processor, 1280*800 full HD screen resolution, front facing camera and with many other features, this is surely a must have gadget. Below are the specs :

Specifications of the Google Nexus 7 Tablet

  • 7″ 1280*800 HD Display (216 ppi)
  • Back-lit IPS display
  • Scratch resistant Corning glass
  • 1.2MP front facing camera
  • WiFi, Bluetooth enabled
  • 8GB/16GB Internal memory
  • 1GB RAM
  • Quad-core Tegra 3 processor
  • 4325 mAh battery (8hrs video playback)

Google says to expect 9 hours of 720p HD video battery life. It also comes with GPS, Gyroscope, Magnetometer and a Micro USB port. Unfortunately, there is no SD card slot but that’s okay because it works on Google play having access to over 600,000 apps and games, millions of eBooks and songs, thousands of movies, so almost all the data is stored in the cloud so it eats up only space where you store your offline files.

The Nexus 7 comes with Google Chrome as it’s default browser which is again an awesome thing because now you can synchronize your bookmarks and settings of your desktop to your tab. Nexus 7 is also loaded with all new dedicated and specially designed app for Google+ and YouTube.

Check the video below where they explain how awesome the Nexus 7 is!

The Google Nexus 7 tab is priced at $199 only for the 8GB model and $249 for the 16GB model and it’s available for pre-order in US, UK, Canada and Australia starting from today. You can pre-order Nexus 7 directly from the play store. It’ll start shipping from Mid July and I think with this packed features and such a low price, Google is surely winning the bet amongst iPad and Kindle fire.

My verdict : It might be too soon to call it an iPad killer before getting our hands on to this device but going by the specs, this surely looks an impressive device and one of the must have gadget of the year for sure. I’m surely ordering one and getting my hands on this wonderful device ASAP. A friend who got his hands on this device says it’s definitely worth the money spend but it sometimes laggs a lot mostly due to its resolution which is somewhat not that great! What’s your say on this beast?
