Flappy Bird is Making $50,000 Daily from Ad Revenue!
Flappy Bird. Released back in may and which recently got it’s limelight and it may not look the best built game ever but reminds you of those 8-bit game days and still dammit, that bird is still profitable. Its popularity stems from the game’s combination of difficulty and simplicity, along with people’s desire to compete for high scores.
In a recent interview with The Verge, Dong Nguyen stated that he’s currently making roughly around $50,000 a day off of ad revenue itself. Considering the fact that the Indie developer has got a couple of other apps topping the iTunes charts as well currently, he’s in for a real steal.
There’s no option to purchase a premium version of Flappy Bird or to remove its in-game ads, and Nguyen says he plans to keep it that way. The somewhat obtrusive advertising kind of adds to the whole spectacle that is Flappy Bird, and Nguyen states that he doesn’t want to update the game out of fear he may ruin what makes it special. With that being said, he’s currently mulling the idea of a sequel.
I’ll admit it, this game is addictive. This is a real success story and it’s not an overnight success. If you’ve not tried flapping a bird, check it out :
