How to Access Facebook when it is Blocked in India

| March 13, 2012 | 5 Comments

The morning is really bad for people in India as for many of the users, they’re not able to access Facebook from their desktop. However, the mobile application of Facebook is working perfectly fine. There are reports that Facebook is blocked by several ISP like Reliance, Airtel. I’ve faced similar problems and I have finally got the clarification of what the actual issue is.

As tweeted by one of our reader Gaurav, Facebook is facing a DNS issue and nothing more. It is not blocked in India or by several ISPs. It’s just a DNS issue and a matter of time. I’ve also got replies about how can I access Facebook when it is blocked in India or facing a DNS issue like this one.

So, here’s how you can access Facebook when it is down or Facing a DNS issue.

  • All you have to do is to update your DNS to Google Public DNS and it will work if it is a DNS error.
  • You can also choose OpenDNS if you don’t want to give more data to Google while you browse.

That’s the only solution we’ve got so far which is working for everyone and even when I applied it, it is working fine for me now. Thanks and have a nice day!
